“Capt. Avery was born and raised in Homer, Alaska. From the age of 10 Avery worked for his family business, Inlet Charters, as a part time deckhand on the Whistler when his dad Gary was running the boat. At age 14 Avery began working full time every summer as a deckhand on the Whistler. After graduating high school Avery went to Avtec in Seward, AK for welding. He’d spend his summers fishing and his fall and winter welding. After Avtec school Avery began working in Fairbanks with union 375 as a pipeline construction helper and apprentice in the winter season and fishing in the summers. In 2015 He received his 100 ton captains license and took over running the Whistler summer of 2016. In 2019In his down time Avery enjoys spending time with his wife Kathryn and their two kids Sage & Grayson. As a family they like to camp, hike, fish the river, go skiing, go ice skating, and take their skiff out fishing in Kachemak Bay. All things that they both grew up enjoying with their families.

As of 2023 Avery is the proud owner of Inlet Charters Across Alaska Adventures carrying on his family business.”

My Name is Luke Nollar, I was born and raised in Homer Alaska and was raised into the world of fishing from my family who also owns and operates a charter company out of Homer. So I have been charter fishing out of Homer for all 18 years of my life. Other than the last two summers on the Whistler I worked on my dads boat called Bell Isle. He was the one that taught me most of what I know about fishing and was definitely the source of my drive to become a better person and a better fisherman. I am currently working on my private pilots license and am planning to attend the university of Dubuque in Iowa in the fall of 2023 for a degree in aviation, with hopes to fly for Atlas international air cargo after college. In my free time I run my trap lines for various animals around the peninsula, and tie flies to fly fish with, and of course fish whenever I can. I work on the F/V Whistler. The Whistler is a multi species fifty foot delta with twin screw cummins diesel engines, it is equipped with a heated cabin, two bathrooms and two incredible deckhands 🙂 Fish On!!
