“I was born on May 3rd 1989 in Homer, Ak to Barb and Gary Ault. I grew up in Homer riding bikes, fishing, and hunting and enjoying the outdoors with friends and family. I started working on the Whistler part time when I was 10 years old as a deckhand & full time when I was 14 years old. I graduated high school in 2007 & after the 2007 fishing season I went to Avtec for welding in Seward, AK for the winter semester and came back to Homer for fishing in the 2008 fishing season and went back to school at Avtech in the fall semester. After the Christmas break and graduation I joined union local 375 as a pipeline construction helper out of Fairbanks from January to mid April and would come back to Homer in the summer to fish with my dad and family till the fall of 2010 when I joined the local 375 apprenticeship and moved to Fairbanks, AK full time. I proposed to my long time girlfriend on thanksgiving of 2011 and we got married on May 26th 2013. In 2015 we had our first child Sage in Fairbanks, AK and moved back to Homer, AK in the early spring of 2016 for just the summer fishing seasons. I journeyed out of the five year apprenticeship in the late fall of 2015 Fairbanks and I got my 100 ton captains license and started running the Whistler the summer of 2016 and pipelining in the winters till 2018 when we had our son Grayson in October of 2018. I took a year off from fishing and pipelining to take care of the kids while my wife Kathryn worked as a nurse practitioner in Fairbanks. In December 2019 we moved Back to Homer full time. I ran the Whistler from May to August then we bought the Whistler and continued to run it till mid September.”

Lindsey has been a deckhand on the Whistler for 6 seasons now. She grew up in Connecticut but moved to Alaska ten years ago to work seasonally. Lindsey has spent time working in Denali National Park, the Alaskan Rail Tour Train, and has ended up making her summer home here in Homer, Alaska working in the charter fishing industry. In her free time, Lindsey loves to garden, cook, and is an avid artist, creating her own line of fish prints that she sells locally. Aside from being a first mate, Lindsey also earned her 100 GT Master’s Captain’s license. When she’s not on the water fishing, she can be found skiing in the mountains of Vermont, Colorado, and Tahoe.
